Why Keeping Your Skin Hydrated During Summer Is So Important!

While many of us enjoy Summer for the hot days and warm nights, our skin definitely takes a hit during these months, and can lose plenty of moisture in the process.

The skin is made up of three layers, the outer layer (epidermis), the underlying skin (dermis) and the subcutaneous tissue (epidermis). If the outer layer isn’t getting enough moisture, the skin will lose its elasticity and often become dry, itchy and flaky. Dry skin can even accelerate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

These tips can help combat dry skin, and keep it feeling hydrated and smooth all day long.

 

Use A Gentle Cleanser/Exfoliator

Cleanse your face at least once a day, and use an exfoliating scrub a couple of times a week, to get rid of dirt and pollution from within the pores, which can sometimes feel particularly excessive in the hot weather. This will also ensure that a face moisturiser absorbs properly and provides the best results.
