Kiss Dry Lips Goodbye

With the dreaded Winter cold approaching, it’s more important than ever to look after our skin. Since our poor faces are most vulnerable during the colder weather (unless we rock a full face balaclava, bank-robber style), keeping skin hydrated is the key to comfortable, radiant skin.

Our poor lips often cop the worst of it – and there is nothing more uncomfortable (and icky looking) than dry, flaky, sore chapped lips. During Winter, lips require regular hydration and conditioning. The skin on our lips is thinner than any other part of the body and lacks oil glands, meaning they can’t regulate their own moisture levels like the rest of our skin.

This presents a particular issue if you’re a fan of bold or bright lip colours for that POP of colour during winter. All but the most forgiving textures enhance the look of flakiness or chapped lips – particularly trendy matte or liquid lip formulas.

UVA rays also remain constant throughout winter and can penetrate through clouds, fog and glass, meaning it can still harm your lips even whilst spending a bright winter day indoors. Which is why it is so important to find a moisture rich lip balm that will fight the environmental elements that cause skin to dry out.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter with Vitamin E Lip Balm is ultra-moisturising, made up of a solid shot of pure Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E and SPF 15. Not only does it enrich lips with moisture throughout winter, it also keeps them protected from the harsh sun which can trigger cold sores and contribute to fine lines around the mouth.

The combination of wind burn and UV exposure can be quite harmful, allowing ultraviolet rays to penetrate the thin skin on the lips and cause damage. Palmer’s Coconut Oil with Vitamin E Lip Balm (also SPF 15!) moisturises by bonding with the natural oils in your skin, nourishing deeply and without irritation, it will ease the irritated feeling of sun and wind damaged skin.

The Key ingredients, Cocoa Butter and Coconut Oil, melt on contact with the skin creating a lush barrier which softens and moisturises lips making this lip balm a winter essential!
