• Vitamin E

  Vitamin E is contained in all Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula products and is absolutely essential for the face. This top antioxidant diminishes the appearance of lines, wrinkles and scars by keeping skin cells hydrated.

• Vitamin C

  Stabilised Vitamin C, also known as Ascorbic Acid, is a naturally occurring antioxidant obtained from citrus fruits and leafy green vegetables. It interacts with copper ions at the tyrosinase active site and reduces oxidized dopaquinone, thereby changing melanin from jet black to light tan. By increasing the cell turnover rate, the appearance of existing discoloration is improved through gentle exfoliation of the skin to reveal a brighter more uniform tone.

• Liquorice Extract

  Liquorice Extract, has been used in other parts of the world, particularly in Egypt for its skin lightening properties. Its mechanism of action is similar to that of Kojic Acid. The main component of the hydrophobic fraction of Licorice Extract is glabridin, which has an effect on the skin by inhibiting tyrosinase activity.

  Restores luminosity. Soybeans have been used in Asia since the Chou Dynasty. Soybeans contain fatty acids and acyl CoA esters, which can prevent pigmentation caused by UV exposure.

• Niacinimide

  Targets unwanted discolouration. One of the two principal forms of Vitamin B3, this water-soluble vitamin has been shown to improve moisture levels and stimulate cell renewal when applied to the skin. Niacinamide also helps to inhibit the production of melanosomes (the cells that produce dark spots), making the ideal ingredient to prevent skin discoloration from forming.
